Serving Children & Families Across Oklahoma
Jana Neufeld, MSW, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Master of Social Work degree, and an undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University. I am an Oklahoma Board Approved Supervisor for LCSW candidates.
Since 2011, I have enjoyed working with professionals, individuals, families, and children at FCC (Family & Children’s Consultants) in Oklahoma City. My clients reinforce my belief in the inner resilience of humanity, and people’s ability to adapt and navigate life transitions and relationships. My counseling philosophy comes from the belief that problems visit people, but people are not problems. We all are practicing life. Problems cannot be understood in isolation from interactions and connections with families/primary caregivers, communities - our work, school, friends, teachers, neighborhoods—society and cultural norms. Through collaboration with the persons I work with, together we are able to understand and map the effects of problems and create alternative pathways (in our brains and lives) to help us respond to life’s situations, challenges, and hardships.
My training and theoretical approaches that support this work include Narrative Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology (how the brain works), Play Therapy, Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I have been married for 30 years. We have been entrusted with parenting one child, who is 21 years old, launched from the nest, and attending his third year of college.
